Solar & lunar eclipses this month

KARACHI : There will be lunar and solar eclipses this month.

This was announced by the incharge of Karachi University's Institute of Space and Planetary Astrophysics, Dr. Muhammad Shahid Qureshi.

He said on Saturday that the lunar eclipse on July 7 would not be visible from Pakistan.

Dr. Qureshi further pointed out that during the year 2009 there would be four lunar eclipses. The first one was on February 7.

The second lunar eclipse would be on July 7 and the remaining two on August 6 and on December 31.

Dr. Qureshi stated that there would be only two solar eclipses in the year 2009.

The first solar eclipse was on January 26 and the second one would be on July 22.

Dr. Qureshi said that the solar eclipse on July 22 would be a total and would be visible in Pakistan.
