ISI chief gets one-year service extension

ISLAMABAD : Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani on Tuesday awarded a one-year extension in service to Director General Inter Services Intelligence (ISI), Lieutenant General Shuja Pasha, a notification said, Aaj News reported on Tuesaday.

Pasha, who was scheduled to retire from service on March 18, 2010, now will continue serving Pakistan Army as Lieutenant General and DG ISI till March 18, 2011, said the notification issued by the GHQ.

Lt. Gen. Pasha is heading Pakistan's premier intelligence service since October 2008. The extension in the service has been given under the rule of ‘compulsory retainment’.
