Load shedding to decrease next week
Saturday, 4 Jul, 2009 2:29 pm
ISLAMABAD : The Ministry of Water and Power has said that the load shedding will decrease next week due to restoration of electricity supply from Mangla dam power station.

According to official sources, efforts are being made for early restoration of supply from Mangla power station.

They added the power station with installed capacity of 1100 MW is shut down due to technical fault and is likely to come on line next week.

Sources said the gap between power demand and supply has increased resulting load shedding however they added there is less load shedding now a-days as compared to same period last year.

They said that last year Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) had load shedding schedule of eight to 10 hours in urban and rural areas.
